This is a tested, clean and working unit. The Sunny Boy 2500’s nominal power of 2200 W can be fed to the grid over the whole input voltage range of 250 to 600 V due to a maximum current of 11 amps. Its maximum efficiency is 94 %. The variable DC input range and the possibility to connect up to three strings with the reliable Multi-Contact connectors make any module configuration possible. These features enable the operator to freely design and implement personal needs for the solar system. However, the optimal configuration is a solar generator with an output of 2750 to 3450 W. It will accept a maximum of 3300 watts of PV power. Sunny Boy inverters are housed in a watertight stainless steel outdoor enclosure, and can operate in extreme conditions (ambient temperatures of -13ºF to +140ºF). They can even be mounted right on the roof along with the modules. The Sunny Boy is designed to support PV modules in series, increasing efficiency and eliminating the need for expensive DC distribution systems and cabling. The Sunny Boy inverters increase efficiency further because they run a separate MPP tracking for each single string. Each Sunny Boy inverter is equipped with a separate and autonomous grid monitoring facility that enables the user to hook up the AC output to any point within the electric distribution system of house. One high voltage series string of solar modules can be connected to each inverter, vastly simplifying design and installation. The result is no mismatching from parallel connections and maximum Power Point Tracking for every series string. System expansion is easy – simply add more inverters and series strings of solar modules. This modular approach results in a cost effective way to build large systems.
